Lots going on this summer. Lots of adventures and fun for Steve and I and the kids. I took Rowan to the beach with Erin and Maggie and Steve took Finn to the lake house to see his family. Got a chance to see Frank and Shawn, go to a party. Then as always there is Finn and Rowan’s therapy sessions to keep my busy. In between all of that and massages I have been continuing with teaching my classes. I really enjoy it. My first surprise was finding out that a bunch of people signed up for my zig zag scarf class and I have not yet knitted a sample. So that is what I will be working on this week. Pictures to follow.
Then yesterday came a huge happy surprise. My brother called me from Idaho to tell me I am going to be an Aunt! I am soooo excited. I am very happy for them. He has wanted a child for years, and now I get to have a cousin for the twins. This brings me a great opportunity to knit and crochet my face off. Blankets, bibs, hats, booties I have no idea where to begin. I have had a this Organic Inca Cotton since I got pregnant thinking I would knit a blanket,
but then I found out i needed enough for two babies so I did not use it. The kids shredded one skein and all I have left is the other hank of 345 yards. Not enough for a baby blanket either knit or crochet so what do I make. It has to be something of heirloom quality because it was about $17.00 per hank. So what do you think I can make that can be saved and packed away for when my niece/nephew gets older? I welcome specific patterns or unusual ideas. I will sign this post out as Aunt D for now…. (Woohoo!)

I think you should make matching mittens and hat, should there be enough material. Highly functional, great heirloom item, and a good use of your ample skills.
